Show Abstract
Radiation measurements made during the spring 2008 cruise to the Fram Strait. Albedo of snow-covered sea ice measured on day 3 on the fifth floe. Same site as 05-C3, 35 to 51 cm snow (wind-formed roughness features) on about 1.5 m FYI. Clearing sky, 6/8 strato-cumulus, varying cloud cover in front of sun. Sensors 1.3 m over surface. Each measurement type (incident, reflected, etc) was made with a different TriOS Ramses spectroradiometer. These are known to have calibration issues at the longest and shortest wavelengths for which data are reported; we recommend using only data from about 350 to 920 nm. No significant quality control has been done to these data.
